The unit was assigned as the 908th TAG in April 1969 at Maxwell AFB, becoming the 908th TASG while it operated the O-2A until December 1971, when it reverted to TAG status with the C-7A. The unit was responsible for the 357th TAS and was assigned to the 94th TAW in July 1972. The 908th converted to the C-130E in 1983 and upgraded to C-130H in 1986. The 908th was upgraded to Wing standard in October 1994.
